🍌 2 INGREDIENT BANANA DONUTS 🍩 These are the sim 🍌 2 INGREDIENT BANANA DONUTS 🍩

These are the simplest donuts that we’ve been making on repeat for years now. They’re a great way to use up any leftover bananas on the bench, are great as a base to mix and match things in to, and are always a hit with the kids!

The recipe is up on my website now (link in bio) or comment “DONUT” and I’ll send it straight to you 🍩🍌

✨Parenting trade of the day: one hour of uninterru ✨Parenting trade of the day: one hour of uninterrupted work, for one hour of straight 4-year-old chaos… and it was so much fun it 💃

As a mostly screen-free home, the recent addition of a Yoto Player to our routine has been a a game changer, especially with the release of Olivia Dean’s music now on Yoto - that means endless dance parties, and in today’s parenting bargain, the most exhausting dance routine practice I’ve ever been put through.

But it was so nice seeing Ava come up with her own plan, create her own moves, take the lead and have the confidence to pull it off (me however… not so much 😅). And if you’re wondering about the glasses, apparently that’s a thing to make your dance even cooler.

We have both the Yoto Player and the Yoto Mini and they’ve been great for quiet time, bedtime stories, dance parties, passive and active learning, screen-free car trips and encouraging independent play.

Some of the things we’ve loved so far:
🌈 super easy and intuitive for kids to use
🎧 headphones can be used via Bluetooth or wired
👾 pixel display shows what story/track is playing
🎼 daily podcasts & radio
💡room thermometer and night light on the Yoto Player

…and probably another 100 things I’ll discover over the coming months.

If you’d like to see more you can check out @yotoplay_au and @yotoplay or head to au.yotoplay.com. And if you’ve got any Yoto must-haves, let me know below 🤍 ad

🌱 BUDGET BITES EPISODE 1: SEAWEED SNACKS 🌱 Welcom 🌱 BUDGET BITES EPISODE 1: SEAWEED SNACKS 🌱

Welcome to my new series, Budget Bites! Each week for the next 8 weeks I’m going to be sharing recipes where I recreate kids snacks using healthier and cheaper ingredients than their store bought alternatives.

We are kicking this series off with one of the most expensive kids snacks…. SEAWEED SNACKS! These usually come prepackaged in small packets and are so expensive compared to making them yourself. We did the maths and weighed them out and the equivalent 81 cent pre bought individually portioned snack that weighed 2grams came in at over 8x the price of making them at home (you get 17g for the same price and a healthier oil, and option to int the salt 🙌🏼). And these aren’t complicated or time consuming, they’re made and baked in just 10 minutes. If you want the recipe pop “BUDGET” below or get the recipe on my website, linked in bio.

I’ve already got a lot of fun recipes ready for this series, but if you have something you’d like me to recreate let me know below ⬇️

🐰 EASTER BUNNY POPSICLES 🐰 These are the sweetest 🐰 EASTER BUNNY POPSICLES 🐰

These are the sweetest little Easter bunny themed Popsicles and are so healthy and easy. We saw this idea on @storiesofanewmom ’s page and had to give it a go… and Ava loved it, she kept saying “Aww” and giving them kisses 🥹

✨ Makes 3 popsicles 🐰 6+ months (see notes)

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup/250g of plain coconut yogurt (optional for a thicker version to help it hold its shape)
1 small banana (or half a large one)
1 small handful of raspberries (we used frozen; can sub with 2-3 strawberries)
2 Tbsp of desiccated coconut* (unsweetened; optional)
6 raisins* (optional)

HOW TO:
1. Add the banana and yogurt to a blender and blend until smooth.
2. Add 3/4s of the yogurt mix to a small zip lock bag and seal shut.
3. Add the raspberries to the blender with the remaining yogurt and blend until smooth (you can also mash this in if your blender won’t blend a small amount), then add the pink coloured “face-features” yogurt to another small zip lock bag and seal shut.
4. Line a plate or baking tray with some baking paper, cut a small hole in the corner of the white yogurt mix, and pipe out an outline of bunny face shape, then fill with the yogurt.
5. Place a popsicle stick in the middle, covering with any leftover yogurt to seal it in.
6. Decorate the yogurt with the coconut “fur” (if using) by sprinkling it over the tops, then pipe out the pink yogurt into bunny ears, a nose and a mouth. Add the eyes and then place the tray in the freezer for 1-2 hours until set.
7. Enjoy!

Once frozen move to an airtight container and store leftovers in the fridge for up to 1 month.

Notes:
Omit the raisins for babies under 18 months, pipe the eyes with the pink yogurt.
You can omit the desiccated coconut for babies under 12 months or for those who prefer a smooth texture.

We LOVE cooking. And eating. But, the thing I ha We LOVE cooking. And eating.

But, the thing I hate about any cooking or meal prep is the cleanup. Mostly because our dishwasher wasn’t up to scratch. Nothing came out clean, it leaked, and once it started smoking on us 😅.

So it was time to finally upgrade and replace it. And when it comes to appliances, there’s one place we’ve bought all our major appliances from for five years now, and that’s @appliancesonline.com.au

We’ve spent our own money there, recommended them to friends and family, and genuinely loved the experience - so being able to partner with them feels very special.

Their Legendary Service is the real deal: they price match, deliver free AND next day to 95% of Australia, remove and recycle your appliances and take away all of the packaging… plus you can arrange installation too.

So if you’re in need of any appliances, check them out, and if you’d like the recipes for our winter nourish bow and brownie bliss balls (that we made to test out the new dishwasher’s cleaning power) feel free to comment “RECIPES PLEASE” and I’ll send them straight over 🌱

🤯 I’ve been kicking myself over this…. WHY HAVEN’T 🤯 I’ve been kicking myself over this…. WHY HAVEN’T I BEEN MEAL PREPPING LIKE THIS ALL ALONG?!

This is what I’m calling Duplo Dinners (inspired by @simplysarahhart Lego lunches), and it has completely changed the way I freeze and prep meals. Instead of freezing one full meal, you prep and freeze each component separately: grains, sauces, proteins, and veggies… like building blocks. Mostly these are leftovers from double cooking a recipe, so there’s no actual extra work and you can slowly stock your freezer supply over a month.

Then, when you need a quick meal, you can mix and match different combos to create endless healthy, nourishing, and varied dinners or lunches (& your kids can pick what they want, or for when they don’t like what’s on offer for dinner). It’s like having your own little satisfying adult Lego set in the freezer 🙌🏼.

Our containers are from @seedandsproutco which are the perfect portion size: I find 3 blocks (a protein, a grain, and a veg base) works for our 4 year old and 5-6 blocks works for adults. Then you just pop them in your glass container, defrost in the fridge overnight, warm it up however you like, and enjoy!

In this reel the recipes I made are:
🌶 Vegan Chilli Sin Carne
🥣 Vegan Sour Cream
🍛 Vegan Katsu Sauce (I have this multiple times a week 🤤)
🍠 Roasted Sweet Potato
🥬 Steamed Greens
🌱 Marinated Tofu Cubes
🥕 Roasted Chickpeas
🍚 Quinoa
🍘 Brown Rice

Let’s get the freezers stocked - if you’ve got any ideas I’d love to hear them ⬇️ and if you want these recipes pop “DUPLO” in the comments and I’ll send you a message (or go straight to my website)

🍚 EASY ONE PAN VEGGIE PESTO RICE BAKE 🌱 This is o 🍚 EASY ONE PAN VEGGIE PESTO RICE BAKE 🌱

This is one of those dump and bake meals that you will be making again and again. It is so unbelievably effort-free, quick and easy to whip up, and so easy that you can get the kids involved in making it. It’s suitable from 6 months (just make sure to flatten the peas and chickpeas, or mash everything before serving)!

It’s perfect for using up any leftover veggies in the fridge, and you can mix and match it depending on what you and your family like 🙌🏼 it goes great on its own or with a side of your protein of choice.

If you want the recipe for this one pop “RICE” below and I’ll get it straight over to you x
