This homemade vegan butter is so creamy and simple you’ll never want store bought again!!

Most store bought vegan butters contain preservatives, emulsifiers, artificial colours and flavours, and added salt… which babies and toddlers don’t need.
 
This homemade version is made from real, simple ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. No hidden extras, just a creamy butter that tastes amazing, spreads beautifully, melts like the real thing and can be used like regular butter for cooking and baking. The best part is you can adjust the salt to make it baby and toddler friendly, so it’s suitable for the whole family.

THIS IS THE ULTIMATE WAY TO MEAL PREP FOR BUSY FAMILIES 🙌🏼

This is what I’m calling Duplo Dinners, and it has completely changed the way I freeze and prep meals. Instead of freezing one full meal, you prep and freeze each component separately: grains, sauces, proteins, and veggies… like building blocks.

Then, when you need a quick meal, you can mix and match different combos to create endless healthy, nourishing, and varied dinners or lunches (& your kids can pick what they want, or for when they don’t like what’s on offer for dinner). It’s like having your own little satisfying adult Lego set in the freezer 🙌🏼. This whole meal prep was done over the space of a month, so each time I cook something like curry, tacos, chilli, or grains and veg, I make enough for an extra meal or two so there’s extras to stick the freezer with. 

We used the 100ml meal prep freezer containers from @seedandsproutco which are the perfect portion size: I find 3 blocks (a protein, a grain, and a veg base) works for our 4 year old and 5-6 blocks works for adults. Then you just pop them in your glass container, defrost when you’re ready, warm it up and enjoy! 

In this reel I made up a taco bowl, a curry bowl with two curries, and a curry and veg mix so there was 3 simple and similar, but different, meals made at once. The recipes I had stocked in this stash are:

🌶 Channa Masala
🍛 Lentil Dahl with spinach 
🌮 Taco mix with mushroom and peppers
🥣 Vegan Sour Cream
🍠 Roasted Sweet Potato
🥬 Greens 
🌽 Black peppered corn kernels
🍚 Quinoa
🍘 Brown Rice

Welcome back to Budget Bites: an 8 part series where each week I’m sharing a new recipe recreating kids snacks using healthier and cheaper ingredients than their store bought alternatives. 

This week we are recreating roll ups, or you might call it fruit leather. 

These are such a great snack to get to make as you can mix and match fruits and berries, use fresh or frozen so it’s even more budget friendly depending on what you need to use up, there’s no added sugar or excess packaging, and so simple to make.

The difference 3 years can make 🤍💔 all the feels o The difference 3 years can make 🤍💔 all the feels on this one today. Noticing how much less I can lift, carry and throw Ava as the years pass - here it’s 4.5 years where it’s one throw and done vs 18 months where I could throw her up and down on repeat 🥹. I’ll be sure to attempt this one again next year though 😅
