These require 3 ingredients, minimal time, and are a good snack for toddlers and adults (we love dunking ours in cashew milk, or any other plant milk, and she has so much fun doing the new dunk action, although it’s very messy!). Also good to note she never eats weetabix normally… but loves these 🙌🏼
This makes 15 massive balls, so you could halve the size of them if you preferred but this is a large safer size for small hands.
These are for >12 months (on occasion) due to them containing dates. Dates are such a healthy food with so many vitamins and minerals, however it’s recommended to wait until over 12 months as they contain sugar. Some people serve before 12 months and some after 24months, it’s all up to how you feel about it. We feel comfortable including dates on occasion as her diet is low sugar and all homemade otherwise.
Peanut Butter & Date Weetabix Balls
Ingredients
- 6 Weetabix
- 1/2 Cup Peanut butter (any other nut butter or combo of nuts works here)
- 1/2 Cup Dates soaked in 1 cup of boiling water for 10 mins to soften (approx. 12 dried) (serve 1/3 cup of the soaking liquid)
- 1/4 Cup Almond flour (optional for coating the balls; can substitute with shredded coconut or cacao powder for 24 months+)
Instructions
- Add the weetabix, peanut butter, & drained dates to a processor and blitz till crumbly.
- Add the reserved 1/3 cup of soaking water and then blend till combined
- Use approx 1-2Tbsp to shape in to balls and roll in the almond flour (if using)
