If you have two ripe bananas on the bench and a cup of flour in the pantry, you can make these soft little banana donuts in minutes. This is one of those simple recipes that feels almost too easy, but it works every time. Just mash, mix, bake and you have naturally sweet donuts that are perfect for babies, toddlers and the whole family.
You can swap out the self raising flour for plain flour with baking powder or a more nutty flour like spelt works well too. For older toddlers you can roll them in a little coconut sugar and cinnamon for a sweet donut style coating, or just serve them plain for babies.

2 Ingredient Banana Donuts
Ingredients
- 2 medium bananas (220g peeled)
- 140 g self raising flour (sub with plain flour and 1.5tsp of baking powder)
Optional coating (for 12+ months):
- 2 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp coconut oil (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180c/350f.
- Peel and mash the bananas until no lumps remain.
- Add the flour and mix to form a dough (using a fork and then hands).
- Spoon the mix evenly into a donut mould, then place on a tray in the oven for 12 minutes (+/- a couple minutes depending on your oven).
- Allow to cool for five minutes in the mould before removing.
- You can serve plain like this, or for older toddlers you can brush with melted coconut oil and roll in the coconut sugar mixed with the cinnamon.
- Enjoy.
Storage
Store in a container on the bench for 3 days, in the fridge for 5 days, or freeze (without the sugar coating) for up to 2 months.Nutrition - Per Serving
